  • In the year 2002 R.E.A.D.S. started the "Diploma in Special Education (Hearing Impaired)" D.S.E. (H.I). The Director, Mrs. Ganga R Singh a senior working Audiologist and Speech Pathologist in the S.M.S Hospital, Jaipur felt the dire need for trained teachers, as there was no training program for the teachers of the hearing impaired in Rajasthan. R.E.A.D.S. is the sole organization to run such courses.

    This Diploma course is a 2 years full time programme and is recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (R.C.I.), New Delhi. R.C.I. has introduced semester scheme for D.S.E. (H.I.) from the academic year 2010 onwards for which Ali Yavar Jung Institute for the Hearing Handicapped (AYJNIHH), Mumbai conducts examination and awards the diploma certificate.

    Currently R.C.I has allowed us only 30 seats intake for each year. In accordance to R.C.I. directive the admission to this course is done on basis of interview and 12th standard percentage. There is no upper age limit for admission.

    During this 2 years programme the theoretical as well as the practical training is imparted to the students, We have well qualified teachers to teach these students .The practical classes for speech as well as the Auditory Training classes are conducted in our own campus "Monsoon Anubodh School" as well as in other such schools of Jaipur.

    D.S.E. (H.I) session commences in the month of July and the admission forms with prospectus are available for sale from the month of February - March each year.

    Besides other subjects, we also provide exclusive training in the field of

          A)Speech and Language (Assessment and Teaching).

                a) Auditory Learning.
                b) Ear mould making Training.
                c) Adaptation of Text books.
                d) Practice Teaching and Lesson planning.
                e) Visit to other organization to gain knowledge regarding other disabilities & their training.
                f) Audiogram Interpretation and Education relevance.
                g) Sign Language Training.
                h) Individualized Educational Programme.

          B) Community Based Rehabilitation (C.B.R.) Programme

          After completion of D.S.E. (HI) Course, the Students get the job opportunities in the following areas:

    In Government General Schools, Special Schools for Hearing Impaired, Special Educator at Speech Therapy and Hearing Impaired Therapy Clinics. In Government projects like ‘Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan’.



    By conducting this Diploma course we are able to develop the trained manpower from the year 2002. R.E.A.D.S. has appointed the best students to work for the organization in Monsoon Anubodh School. This course was sponsored in the First Batch by the Monsoon Trust, U. K. for which R.E.A.D.S. is very grateful to them.
